My husband and I are considering land tour vs cruise. If anyone has been on both please advise. We want to go to the Mediterranean in September. We have booked the Celebrity Millenium but we afraid it's going to be too hectic and we will not see much of each city or country.
We are considering Tauck or Insight.
thanks

Cruise vs Land Tour

Postby GlennMN » Tue Mar 21, 2006 7:58 am

This may be totally offbase, but we did a cruisetour last year through, and along Alaska with Holland America. During the land portion, we saw a great deal of Alaska. During the cruise, the primary draw was being pampered on the ship. During both the land and cruise portion you had optional tours offered to give you more depth. I will guarantee that a land tour will feel more hectic, since you will be moving from town to town either each day or every other day. While on a cruise you unpack ONCE -- and all the meals are provided. Celebrity is a fine line. Unless you have unrealistic expectations, you should feel pampered.

I have not traveled with either Insight or Tauck, but we are currently booked with Insight for this summer. It is my understanding that both Insight and Tauck are good, but that Tauck is a notch above Insight. Happy planning.
