Am thinking of doing an Italy escorted. How grueling is it? Does anyone know if the difference between costsaver and other is worth it? Never been to Europe. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

I just returned from a tour with Globus to Italy and 6 other countries. I've taken other tours and I think the secret is to get a tour that spends 2 or 3 nights in each city. The tours that change cities every night are very tiring. Many time you will not get to your hotel til 7 pm and have to be up and going the next day by 7am,suitcases out at 6 am. I did that on my first tour to Great Britian and it was exhausting.I was possibly really tired because I had just had surgery too.I faced Chemo and radiation treatments on my return.I still had a great time though.
This time I took a tour called Scenic Delights with Globus and we had 2 nights everywhere but 1 night. This was much better and we had a great time.Another thing you might look at is the Globus combination river cruises and tours. In thoses you only have to unpack once. Globus has a Italy tour that spends 3 days in Venice,3 days in Rome and 3 days in Florence. This is one I am looking at for my next vacation. I absolutely fell in love with Italy and plan on going back next year.Whatever you decide to do I am sure that you will be able to find a tour that suits you perefctly. If you have any other questions let me know. I am 65 yrs young.

Europe is wonderful, you will love it.
