Destiny-Liqour rules

Leaving Oct. 1 on Destiny. Booked late, so had to pay for a suite, so can we make up some money by brining liquor on board--have heard people fill water bottles with vodka or rum. But do they check? If caught, they just throw it away? Also: has anyone been to the Bacardi or Malibu distillery and is the rum MUCH cheaper? Any other suggestions to these first time cruisers (celebrating 30th anniversary) would be greatly appreciated! Excursions: cheaper to buy off ship??? Any that are exceptional and should not be missed?

What is your itenary like? I do know that the excursions from the locals are much cheaper than that of the ship.
