Last night I was informed that a Reservist assigned to a unit my Wife is the commander of has been activated to Operation Enduring Freedom, Iraq. When this soldier received his orders he contacted Carnival immediatly because he and his wife would not be able to take the cruise he booked and paid for. They told him that they would return 50% of the payment. I cannot put my arms around how anyone would think that would be acceptable treatment of someone protecting our country!! Has anyone else ever experienced something so reprehensable. Why penalize the people that protect our country when in reality we sent them to protect our way of life. Unfortunately if they get away with this one time the president will be set to take advantage of our military our protectors. If you agree please let the Carnival people know what you think.
Thanks, Chad
I agree with you 100%. . Most airlines, hotels and employers recognize the civic duty of our military and I think this reflects very pooly on Carnival Cruise Lines.
I agree that this is horrible. Did he ask to speak to the head of the department? I have had a simular situation with RCCL.My husband is in the Army. After much "let me speak to your boss" demands, I finally had the full amount refunded. Now I have wised up and always buy the insurance and get a gaurentee that the full price will be refunded and the name of the person that is making that promise.
