This has got to be the worst cruise ship in the world. The food was so bad after the second day we started getting the box cereal in the mornings to have something to eat. The staff was oh was there a staff, if you asked anyone anything they knew nothing. The ship was terrible to try to get around. The lay out was awful. You had to walk forever to get to one end of the ship and back. The cabins were small and watch that water in the shower one minute it is freezing and the next it will scald you. They even have a sign run cold water first to prevent scalding.
The buffets were a joke and the desserts were not as good as pepperidge farm. That is about what the cakes were like. I think they had cheesecake once. Never any souffles. Never any creme brele. The only fruit was cantaloupe and honey dew. The only strawberries I saw were in the coffee bar and you had to buy them. Oh, and the soda card was a joke. $40 and they poured hot coke out of a can. If Carnival called and said you can take this cruise again free I would say no thanks. I wouldn't go if they paid me!!

:D The Victory is a Great ship . . You will love the food and the entertainment. We went with another couple about a year ago and had the best time. I think some people who reply and complain about this or that cruise are people who are never happy with much . . I found no problems with the Victory personal or the food. It was a vacation to remember. I've cruised two times before and am going in January on the Triumph. These ships are twins I believe. So go and Have a GREAT TIME! Best Wishes! Bob

hi everyone.. .. ..another cruise with the Fun ship this past time Victory is a thumbs up in my book
christmas travel was perfect and the Victory was all around tip top
10+ for this ship and staff
lets face it things happen sometimes while you travel you wait in a line sometimes someone bumps or what ever the complaint may be things can and will happen.. .. ..just keep in mind you only have a good time if your looking to have a good time.. ..go with the flow enjoy whats around you embrace the islands and soon that idot that got in your way will be a joke in your memory and your day will be filled with fun!!!!
I have over the last few years did alot of trips via Carnival the victory staff was on top of it!!!! over time you get to know the people who work on the ships as they often move one from another.. ..So this christmas we already knew much of the staff.. ..Look for Alex he is a server for the bar staff you will see him all over the place and he will keep you happy in cocktails and what ever else you may require.. ..and at the end of your trip "grease his hand with some green" his service is well worth the extra.. .. ..tell him Mr david told you to order a juicy -. .. ..now this is a real drink so please dont think to this be vulgar and everyone will love it very few people know of this beverage but i promise you try it you will never regrett it and will have it many more times again
there were over 1000 kids aboard.. .. ..Didnt notice them.. ..they just told it one night so dont worry if you dont have them you wont be bothered and if you do have kids dont worry theres so much for them to do you can sit back and enjoy while your kids do too.. .. .
happy sailing everyone
and happy new year

I think some of the ones who rave are either getting paid or are linked to the cruise line. One man's beauty is another man's ugly.. ..Plus staffs differ and so do each and every cruise.

victory is a wonderful ship. went in oct 2003 and had a blast. food was terrific and so were the staff. beautiful decor on the ship. only drawback is that it was a little difficult to navigate at first but didn't take long to figure it out.

We went on the Victory with Mother outlaw her friend and 4 teen agers !! 15 x 2 and 13 x 2
My husband and I had breakfast in a.m with mom and
the kids checked in and were off.. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. . Until the formal dinner
we had our party time and we loved it and will return.

The food was great and I don't eat at fast food places, I experienced ethnic foods from all over.

The staff was there to make sure we enjoyed our stay and my room was
always straightened. We made sure we tipped extra for the teens room attendent. Dinners were special Grandma loved seeing us all dressed up we loved our designated waiter and his attendent.

The experience for the kids to meet kids from Canada and all over was great they still keep in touch online.

My suggestions are go for cruises with longer portcalls so you have time to do something.. .. .. .

Treat your attendents kindly and speak with them they have long days and work hard for 6 months at a time. They have different cultures they are an interesting part of your voyage.

I do not work for Carnival, but if they want to send something my way for this review I'd take it. We will cruise again spring 2006 with our family of about 14 + people.

No Victory

Postby neilnadjen » Tue Aug 30, 2005 3:48 pm

This has got to be the worst cruise ship there is. Just returned from 7 days with my family and my advice is to stay away. There were 3600 passengers and it was a free for all. Twenty five minute buffet lines were the norm and security was nowhere to be found. Childern were in the adult only hot tubs and when we approached security, their response was "WEe'll look into it". . Teens were running through the ship knocking on cabin doors and running. I saw a few altercations between guests and one guest received a black eye during a fight . . By the last night, they had run out of melon, sour cream, pineapple juice and mayonaise. I tried getting my son a cheeseburger at 6:00 and was told no burgers until 11:30 at the midnight buffet unless my son wanted to eat in the dining room with the adults. Youngsters were climbing the pool ladders and doing flips off the rails and security refused to say a word. The language was horrible and offensive. it took 2 hours to get aboard the ship and we were called out of our rooms at 9:30 am to begin the unloading process and didn't get off the ship until 12:30. Never again!!

I went on the Victory end of october and it was the best holiday i ever had!!! and i have been to quite some places

the first 2 days i was ill(as were loads of ppl) it was rough sea because of the hurricane in the area and i was looked after soo well!! when i was back on my feet every single member of the staff that knew i was ill asked me how i was!

our roomsteward made me a different towelanimal everyday after that wich was soo nice!she didnt have to make time for me seing she had soo much to do..but still she'd check up on me from time to time!

the crew is amazing and soo friendly..i dont think i have ever seen such a staff that would do anything for the guests!!
as for the food.. . it was amazing!! for formal dinners we were satt in the Pacific diningroom..and it was perfect..i'm quite picky as i study catering but i didnt have anything to remark!! The service was amazing aswel Thanks to david & goliath as they called themselves haha!

but i must admitt the comment bout the ships layout is true once i was looking for my stateroom bout 30 minutes and we could never find the right enterance for the diningroom either wich wasn't all that great but we got round!
