Beaches Turks and Caicos

I am planning a trip to Beaches Turks & Caicos the first week of April 2005. Could someone give me their opinion on the resort? We have been to Beaches Negril and loved it. How do the two Beaches resorts compare?

How are the rooms at Turks & Caicos?

Also, how did Beaches Turks & Caicos withstand the recent hurricanes and tropical storms (beaches, foliage, etc.)?

Does anyone have pictures of the resort (possibly since the recent hurricanes)?

I took my family there in 2002. I have visted Beaches Negril while staying at Sandals negril. I prefer Turks over Jamiaca for a family vacation because;
1. Nicer island, Turks is not as run down and povert stricken. This gives you a more secure feeling when you let you children roam the resort alone.
2. No 2 hour drive to the resort.
3. The water is much clearer and the most beautiful turquoise you have ever seen.
4. A 5 minute walk down the beach leads you to a snorkel reef that is marked with buoys and starts from the beach. Great for kids that are to scared to jump off a boat in the middle of the ocean.
5. The whole resort is relativly new with the french quaters being the newest although a few hundred yards from the beach.

Having stayed at Beaches Turks last year, and just returned from Beaches Negril. There is no comparison. My kids 17 and 13 loved Turks much better. More to do and the food was great. They want to go back to turks
