Essential Europe

Has anyone been on Globus' Essential Europe tour? Will be going in mid-February. What are the highlights or low points of this tour? Especially, how are the OPTIONALS? Any feedback is appreciated!

Everyone has their own opinion.

My wife, son (age 16) and I went on this tour in late July. At the end, we each had a different opinion about its highlights. We all agreed that while we were impressed with Italy, the optional tour of Rome required a lot of walking after having walked the entire morning into the early afternoon. That was a bit strenuous. The other optionals we took were in Venice, Lucerne and the city night tour of Paris. We felt the price of the shows at the end of the tour a bit high for us, but the evening cruise on the river Thames was worth the money. Again, this is our opinion only. For a first time traveller to Europe, it is a good introduction to the major cities.

Mike,
Thanks for your reply to my post. Have been to all of these itinerary stops, but this will be my first Globus tour. Am not really interest in the optionals, but in further exploration of each of these cities. Will make sure I'm in shape for a lot of walking. :)
