I have used Pleasant twice in the past, and I have already booked again for this summer. Very reasonable prices, and nice hotels. Friendly service and great experience in the industry. I have no complaints.

suntrips / charter flights to hawaii

Postby Guest » Fri Apr 02, 2004 10:52 pm

i took a trip to the big island and honolulu a few years back. when they say to be at the airport 2 or 3 hrs early (i can't remember which it was exactly), be warned, they mean it. we got there one hour before the plane was to leave. they would not let us check in or board the plane even though it did not leave the ground for over an hour and the terminal was deserted at the time which was like 4am. The staff simply sets a time they will check you in (this was from SF) and then leaves so if you are not there at THAT time, you don't get checked in and you don't get on the plane. This was our 10th wedding anniversary and we only booked 2 days in honolulu before going to the big island. after talking with our travel agent, for a fee of $100 each, we got to fly on the charter the next day, but missed a whole day in honolulu, which was a shame because it was so unnecessary.

Of course it was our fault for not getting there when told but this was before 9/11 and all the security and it seemed rather outrageous to have to get up in the middle of the night to go to the airport when it was unheard of at that time to normally arrive more than an hour before your flight. Thank god for our travel agent because suntrips really made it hell for us.. ..they were so unhelpful and even rude. After that, had a good vacation. Just beware of these charters if you are a rookie . .. .. . it was our first time on a vacation charter flight like that.

I have used Pleasant Hawaii for many folks, our own trip, with a group and several I arranged myself in the last 20 years.
I have never been disappointed with anything, nor has any of the folks that went with us that I know of and I really know if someone is not happy with things, they have no problem letting youknow.
I wopuld give them a 100 +

Pleasant Hawaiian

Hi, this is in answer to your query on Pleaasant Hawaiian travel. I have been to Oahu four years in a row and have used Pleasant three times and will be using them again next spring/ summer. They are incredible. The one time I used SUN trips was horrible but I went at the last minute and made reservations in Ca while visiting my family unlike the other times when I used my own agency here in NH.
The prices ARE a lot cheaper then others quoted but although We can not afford the Hilton or TUrtle Bay, we have gotten very nice hotel accomadations at the Outriggers?Ohana chains and also one year at The Radisson Kuhio.
ALl their hotels are clean and have many amenities for every price range. THey are by far the only one that I will ever book with, the service is excellent from name airlines, name hotel, transfers, activites etc.
My fare from Manchester, NH round trip, 14 nights, all transfers and taxes, and hotel a half block from the beach, complete cancellation insurance for any reason, total price 1320 dollars It has always been about 1250 dollars but my friend this time had surgery a few months before and was not sure she could make it.
The first year I was able to go, my sister went with me. The second year my elderly aunt , the third year was my sister again, the fourth was my friend, and this coming year will be my sister and then the following month my friend of many years will finally make the trip after hearing me go on and on all these years.
They have all said that I have to make the arrangements as they cannot believe how really inexpensive it is to visit the beautiful island. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone.
traveling from the east coast is a very long and tiring trip but well worth the time and is a lot cheaper then my 11 night cruise out of San FRancisco booked with AAA. [/b]

There are "deals" between the airlines, hotels, and travel agents.
My personal experience with "Pleasant" was excellent. I recommend
them every chance I get!!!

[quote="jmoore"]Hi! Has anyone had any experience with Pleasant Hawaiian Holidays?
We are planning a trip to Oahu in September and want to stay at the Hilton
Hawaiian Village in Wakiki and Turtle Bay Hilton on the north shore. They
have a package, including airfare from LA that comes in about $1200 less
than what we could arrange ourselves, supposedly for the same rooms. This
sounds great but a little suspicious given what I know of the high
occupancy of those hotels at that time. Am I being paranoid or does
someone have any experiences with them?

Thanks!

Pleasant Holidays is a completely reputable company for Hawaii and the South Pacific. I am a travel agent and I use them as well as another Hawaii operator. They are able to offer wonderful packages because they sell SO MUCH!!!! Pleasant Holidays has a fabulous relationship with hoteliers and just go enjoy Hawaii. You will absolutely get what you pay for and will have no need to worry.

Hi I just returned from Hawaii last nite. I used SunTrips this time and was so disappointed. I should have gone with Pleasant. I have always used them in the past, but because of family used Suntrips. I have also stayed at Hilton Hawaiian Village. I was there at the Hotel in 2002 it was great!!!!!!!!!!!!! The rooms, staff, and service are great!!!!! I go to Hawaii once a year and have tried several different hotels thru Pleasant and have yet to be disappointed. Hope you have a great time
