Cosmos splendors of Italy

We are leaving next week for a Cosmos Tour (Splendors of Italy) Has anyone taken this tour that could give us a little insight as to what to expect. The tour visits Rome, Siena, Florence and Venice. Also a little advise on ATM machines. Thank You

just returned from italy. Loved every minute of it. The guide (Lino) was very knowledgable. Cosmos is a great tour for the money. We stayed out of the city in Florence and Venice but it worked out OK. Loved the excursions to Frascati wine region and Tuscan region. Really fell in love with Sienna. Could have done without the leather tour in Florence. If you have any specific questions let me know. FYI there are hair dryers in every hotel so a converter is not needed unless you need a curling iron. The exchange rate is not in our favor, about 25% more than US. We paid 5.50e for a coke in Florence.

I am looking to take this tour late Sept 2004, how hurried is it ?Do you have any time to do your own thing?How much spending money would you suggest? I have never been abroad. Thanks
