My wife and I are traveling for the first time on a cruise like this. What is the real dress code during the day and at meals, especially dinner. I read that gentlemen will want to have a coat for dinner. Required? normal? How dressy? Does my wife need a dress? Pants ok?
What is the captain's dinner? We're traveling in July. Thanks

During the day, dress is casual, anything you like is usually fine. At dinner, dress continues to be casual, although most people dressed a little nicer than their daytime touring clothes. Nobody wore shorts, tee shirts, etc at dinner. The only time you need a coat or dress is at the Captain's diner. Most dressed very nice for this and mabey the Captain's cocktail reception, although is is in no way "formal" Pants are OK for women as long as they have a dressy jacket, etc. However, there are always people who don't dress up, but they are in the minority.
