RC or Dunn's River?

I am planning for my honeymoon in October. Trying to decide between the two. Any suggestions? Both sound wonderful, but I have seen a few negative reviews of RC on tripadvisor.com. I realize that some of those people will never be happy, but it seemed to be a greater amount than the other Sandal resorts. Also was wondering if it is better to book directly through Sandals or to book with a TA? Thanks.

Well a couple things. I've heard the same rumblings on RC from some experienced Sandals travellers at http://www.tropictravelonline.com so you may be onto something. That said, i've personally been to SDR and had a great time. It's a bit more high rise hotel like than I prefer but the dining and entertainment were better than Sandals Negril which is a more resort feel. On your second question i'd suggest getting the initial price from Sandals, then to seek out several agents and see where you are price wise. My thinking is that even if the price is the same (doubt it will be) you'll be better represented by a TA than some order taker. Furthermore i'd suggest locating a TA who is an active Sandals visitor as they have relationships with the resort management and can use this to ensure your requests are met.
