Schengen Visa

I am a British national resident in the UK. In January I am getting married to my Ukrainian girlfriend who resides with me on a UK fiancee visa. I would like to visit Tenerife after we are married.

Can anyone tell me if a Schengen visa covers The Canary islands and if so will my Ukrainian girlfriend be able to apply for one in the UK before we get married for use after we are married??
