Okay, now i dont know how well this will come accross but i'll give it a shot and i'm only looking for opinions and advice.. .. .
So me and a friend of mine who often frequent the skyline of the cambridgeshire for philosophical talk, social updates and martial arts cross training etc have come accross an intresting idea.. .. .
We'v been out to various moors around the UK also a few forested areas such as snowdonia, kind of gather things, get there, dissapear for a while, re-appear and then head home.. .. .. .
Between us its a good thing and we love heading out as such but lately we'v been pondering a bigger picture, but what with the size relitive to our past experiance we'r looking for a reality check to be honest.. .. .
I guess we figure our "ideas" are to ideal.. .. .
Now this might sound a little OTT physically or not.. .. . i'm not entily sure about how physically demanding the experiance will be i guess.. .. . only started researching seriously a few hours ago.. .. .
Anyways, the idea (or ideal). .. .. .
Basically we get flights out to thailand (no specific destination yet) and get to the coast (Well actually thinking more the "Mergui Archipelago" area). .
Get together sum supplies, kayak's etc etc and then setting off kayaking from one island to the next.. .. .. .. .. .
Thats pretty much the idea i guess.. .. .. .
Its been left vauge since conception (a short while ago) so as we can further define the detail as we get more of an idea of whats possible and whats not.. .. .
For the kayaking, i'd say we'r bother very strong in the water in general, good @ kayaking, swiming etc, we climb buildings pretty much every evening possible (5+ish) and train MA 3/4 out of the average 5 days we'r together.. .. .. .
I guess we are both just looking for someone with simular experiance who can let us know how to get plan this. We plan to keep out of the way of tourism as much as possible and jst get away from everything, escape if you will.. .. .. .
Also financially how much are we looking at? Whats the bare essential expendishire's? Asside from flights, insurance (think we'd get insured :p skated in an internatinal inline skating competition in amsterdam a few years back.. .. . deffinatly didnt mention that to my insurance :p). .
Also another issue is what i'v been told are "pirates" out there who have caught onto kidnapping westerners and holding ransom and just generally causing suffering.. .. . Any elaboration on that?
Any advice or information would be very much appreciated as this is something we both feel would be a life long experaince and want to give it a shot whilst we'r still young (20yrs old). .. .. .. .
