We did the cruisetour 5S on the Sun Princess.

If you're traveling with other couples, etc. suggest you look into renting walkie talkies once on board . .. .. . we walked a "zillion" miles, fruitlessly trying to find others.

We didn't realize you could rent them until we went to check on on board account last day of cruise.

Hey guys, my wife and i have cruised princess twice trough alaska.
it isa wonderful cruise. walkie talkies - great idea. Digital camera-
spend the extra money and get a good zoom and extra memory card, youll need it. Good pair of binoculars- 10-20 zoom, you wont regret it.
Light rain coat- some days are very rainy, windy and cold. other days sunny and warm (you could wear shorts) pack for both. all the shoppiing at each stop is similar. Do Not Miss the train ride, it will be in your brochure. its alittle long but a must see ,and lots of history.(take your xtra battery for your camera.) the tram way you can do in about 1 hour on your own and its right at the boat dock. if you like the outdoors you will enjoythis cruise. Food - breakfast good, luch fair, supper in rest. good, some portions small but you can ask for all you want. All srvice was good - they are their to keep you happy. any other ? Email sloth8229@hotmail.com i am not on this site much.

Did 5S last year . .. .. . wish someone had told us about the walkie talkies . .. .. . A definite must, evenfor familieies.

Every thing was great except the train from Denali into Anchorage . .. .. . hope they got the AC fixed in the off season . .. .. . we nearly froze . .. .. . I'd recommend the right side as you're facing the engine . .. .. . but to each his own. [/u]

hello,

before going to Alaska, recommend that you consider renting a car in Juneau, and Skagway. having a car gives you flexibility at less cost than the tours and you see more.[/b]
