Has anyone been on the Costa Atlantica?

Has anyone been on the Costa Atlantica?

Postby Joanna » Wed Jun 08, 2005 11:23 am

I've never been on a cruise before. I am thinking to book a 10 night Egypt, Turky, and Greece in Sept/Oct on the Costa Atlantica.

Has anyone had any experience with this ship/cruise line? If so, I'd
love to hear of your experiences.

Thanks. Joanna

Hi, were thinking of booking the Costa Atlantica, but not sure which location of the ship is best, in your experience would you recommend the back, mid or front of the ship?? I've green allocated a grade 7 cabin (Roma Deck) at the back, I'd appreciate any advice you can offer. Thanks.. .. .. .. .

Don't do it!!. .. ..DO NOT take a Costa cruise if you care about your
well-being, or the well-being of a loved one! This mature, experienced
female traveler was sitting, fully dressed, and reading poolside on the
Costa Atlantica, when she was attacked without warning by a man she'd never seen before.
The attack was completely unprovoked, and it was immediately
apparent that serious injury had occurred. Foolishly, I pleaded with
men (both known & unknown) who rushed to help, to NOT harm the
attacker, but to summon security.
Security looked aghast at the man who continued to cling to my back,
and asked the man for his information ( he refused to give it) and then
asked ME to provide my name and cabin number in the attacker's
presence!
Long story short, the ship captain was extremely rude, and said that
because the (European) man who attacked me was sorry & said it
wouldn't happen again, the matter was closed. The captain insisted
that the decision was his & his alone. He refused to identify the
assailant to me. I was 5 days into a 17-day cruise, and in agony. Once
back in the USA, I had to have surgery (labral tear in my shoulder),
and also learned that the FBI had jurisdiction because an American
was attacked in open waters. Of course, there was no way that they
could apprehend the European attacker at that point.
This attack cost me tens of thousands of dollars.. ..don't sail with
"ACCOSTED" Cruise Lines![/b]
