I was wondering the ages of the groups on these tours..My Mother and I will be traveling together and I hope they give us two twin beds.. ..Rather than one double! Do any of the hotels have a laundry service? Is there room service? Can we hire a private driver on days we would rather do other things.. .. ..Anyone been on the optional Pompei(SP) outting?,,,That sounds wonderful.. .. .. .. ..Anyone suggest a great local Roman resturant?,,,,,Thanks ya'll for any suggestions

Our tour last summer was about half families with teens. I asked our tour director and he said that the average overall age of Globus tourists is 56. However they get lots of families in the summer and few if any other times of the year so guess that the average age is a lot lower in the summer and higher in the winter. In our group there was only a handful of people 50 and older - the rest were younger adults and teens.

We had triples since there were 3 of us and all of the beds were twins - i.e. 3 twin beds. I think twins are more common there than here.

I don't think laundry services and room service is very common. We washed things out in the sink.

I wouldn't know where to hire a private driver - but you can certainly do things on your own. We did everywhere. You don't have to stay with the group. Many of the outings are optional and cost extra. For that matter, you don't have to go to the included things if you don't want to.

If you want to hire a driver for the day ask your TD, they will be able to advise on a company that will take you where you want to go.
