Globus Age range? Winter European Sampler

Globus Age range? Winter European Sampler

Postby california » Sun Sep 05, 2004 1:31 pm

My husband and I are 25 and 28 we are thinking about going on the Winter European Sampler. I was wondering if on the less expensive tours if the average age is younger. They say that the average age for Globus is 45. I really wanted to take a Contiki which is 18-35 but they didn't have a tour that met our needs in November. Thanks for any help

Our tour director told us that the average age of a Globus tourist is 56. I don't know if that is true or not.

On our summer tour, there were a lot of families and couples from their late 20s to 40s.

When I asked the TD about it, he said that they never or rarely see children during the spring and fall but that the summer draws more families.

I have also heard that the more expensive the tour, the older the group.

Length of tour + age?

Just a hunch, but normally retired couples/individuals have the time for the longer, more expensive tours. Those of us still bound by the jobs we workat usually would opt for a tour length that fits into their vaction time. Kids might be on a winter tour during Christmas vacations, but the number, I suspect, would be less than during the summer.

go with the old folks, why do you think they don't have tours in the winter
because most of the travelers on coniki are recent high school or college graduates sent by their parents especially if it is a long tour. AND believe me you would much rather have ten 60 year olds on your tour than ten 18 year olds testing their freedom.. ..remember there is no drinking age
. ..my first trip to Europe was on a coniki tour 6 weeks many "kids" got sick on the bus and had continious hang overs. Maybe things have changed . .. .. . we have done 2 Globus tours in the last 3 years in the summer with our teens (last one June 2004) but don't plan your trip on the age group especially if it is shorter than 10 days, thats just when you start getting to know the people.. ..remember the days are so full of touring time is really limited to make relationships.. .. .. ..just to let you know on our tour in June of 2001 3 week.. .. . london to athens more retired people June 2004 10 day essential europe much younger group. I think the shorter the tour the younger the group..still average about my age 45.
