Optional Excursions Essential Britain and Ireland

My Daughter and I leave 6/7 for this tour, just got the package with the optional excursions. Any feedback on what is worthwhile and what is not?? I have read on some of the forums that the food is not good on the excursions; is it worth it for the entertainment, or what ever you see? Any advice is appreciated, first trip and we really want to make the most of it.
