teenagers on tour

we are planning to take a tour to russia and northern capital with my 2 teenage girls 15 and 17, they are a bit worried that there will only be people my age on the tour, any comment or suggestions, thanks

If you are going in June through the end of August (which is most likely with teenagers) then the odds of others their age will be on the tour. We have traveled with our 2 when they were both still teenagers and found that invaribly (sp?) there are far more children (ages generally 10 & older) and with our groups we usually find 5 or more just in the 14 -17 group. Those older teens usually end up having the most fun as the younger ones follow their lead. No need for worry on their part or yours, we gave ours freedom to do things as a group (controlled of course lol) and it proved to be a positive experiance for all. If they are social at all (and what girls aren't) they will have a blast.

On our recent trip to Italy, there were about 9 kids (15-21) who were all very well-behaved and a pleasure to have on the trip. They sat together at meals towards the end of the trip and may have gone out in the evening together a few times. None of the kids "partied" or anything. Parents felt safe letting the kids go for a walk or have A drink. August may not be the best month for teens since the southeast returns back to school (way too soon.)

When we went, our tour group was at least half families with teenagers. It depends on time of year partly. And it also might depend on location. I don't know if Russia would be as popular with families who might be doing a once in a lifetime trip.

Glad to hear that there are teenagers on Globus tours. I'm leaving in two weeks with my 16 year old daughter and it would be nice for her to at least see someone her age on the tour. I'm hoping it will be a very mixed age tour. We're going on the Iberian Vacation.

I have always traveled abroad on tours with my teenage daughter (who is now 22) and we have always had young people on our tours.. ..especially in the summer. She's made some wonderful friends and never felt out-of-place. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to introduce the world to your girls; they'll never forget it! Have an unforgettable time!

On my recent Best of Italy tour there were 6 teenagers and four 10-12 year olds. However when we went to Egypt a few years ago during the Christmas holiday season my D was the only teenager (though there was a 10 year old kid). . However since Europe is a more teen friendly destination, and one can expect a few teens on these tours.

Recently returned from the Warsaw, Baltics and Russia trip; youngest on the tour was about 25.

Just come home from British Sampler with 2 teens, 16, 18. There were 2 other teens and a couple of children on board. There was no interaction between teens. My kids had a great time with the adults on board. You make due with what you get.

We were on the Best of Italy tour this summer. There were 11 teens and they all had a good time together. After about the second day, the teens chose to sit together during meals. (They were all very well behaved, I might add.)

We were on same British Sampler Tour. We really had a ball with J&A, especially finding the Italian Restaurant & Hard Rock Cafe in Edinburgh. Kids can have a good time with their parents & other adults.

My kids (and us), had a great time with you and your husband (and the others) on British Sampler. I can honestly say it was one of our favorite vacations of all time. We are planning on Italy next summer, Best of Italy or Mosiac, and will use Globus again. We'll be saving our money to cover all those optionals.

Hi S&K, we sure wish that we had exchanged addresses prior to those last frantic minutes of the tour. I was in tears hugging the kids goodbye. They are great kids and really made the tour special.
