I was "interrogated" at Charles De Guille (sp?) airport in Paris. Employees of American Airlines went through my bags, asked me numerous questions about why I was in their country and how long I had been there. Once I arrived at my gate, a bomb sniffing dog gave my bags a "once over". . And let me tell you something, I felt pretty safe on that flight.
On another trip from London Heathrow to Washington Dulles, I had my bag searched thoroughly. Once I arrived in the states, I simply said hello and they asked me if I enjoyed my trip. The let me right through customs without further delay.
I never knew that a blonde-haired, green-eyed, young woman could look so threatening! I am getting quite the complex. From all of my travel experiences, I get the feeling that airport security is quite stringent in other countries. So don't feel bad. I don't think it is all that unusual. Frankly, I was grateful for the extra security.
