We are planning this tour (first-timers) Sept-Oct 2005. Would like to add optional " 3-day Aegean cruise". . Has anyone taken this option? If so could you comment on your experience. ie: type of ship, accomodation, food, service, tours, tipping, etc. Would you recommend it?

As for Trafalgar Tours, it seems to me that "Optional Excursions", are just part of what you have to put up with to really see the highlights.. .. ..am I correct. Thanks.

Absolutely take this tour, we just got back May /04 and we had a great time. The Optionals are expensive but some on worth the price, totally up to personal preference. Our Tour Guide Gianluca was awesome, hope you get him. The low of the trip was Venice.. ..poor hospitality, poor location hopefully Trafalagar will change the Venice site cause it was bad. The best part of Italy is Sorrento, great hotel, great people and lovely location. The group we travelled with were very nice, your choice as to how much you mingle. Greece was outstanding and if you can book yourself on the Islands for abit totally completes the holiday. Enjoy!!!
