Irish Discovery Tour

Traveling with my Wife, Mother & Father this Spring. Looking forward to this trip, 1st time out of the U.S. with my folks in over 30 years. 1st time out of the U.S. with my Wife.

We're seeing Dublin, Waterford, Killarney & Limerick. Mom & Wife want to see the Waterford Crystal Factory. Me- Blarney Castle- got to kiss the stone. Dads just along for the ride & to keep an eye on the rest of us.

My Parents are in their mid 60s, Wife and I, early 40s. Wife & I are in fair health, as is Mom. Dad has some breathing problems, but he gets around pretty good, needs to stop and catch his wind every now and then.

Any words of wisdom for our trip? Thanks in advance.

Words of Wisdom? Well how about Words of some knowledge (it's the best Ive got lol). . First I would highly recommend dressing in Layers (ie; undershirt then light shirt then sweater/sweatshirt then light jacket) as this will allow you to quickly adapt to the ever changing climate. The weather can be warm and sunny and in a moments notice it is raining and then cloudy then sun again (it is actually fun to experiance the changes) so by dressing in "Layers" you will always be prepared. Ireland is absolutley Beautiful and if you want you can combine Blarney and Waterford Crystal into 1 stop, as the "Woolen Mills" store carries the entire line of Waterford along with lots of other big name manufacters, they also have a lot of other Irish items from Wool Sweaters to trinkets. They do not make the crystal there, but I did not find the factory tour all that interesting (of course your Wife will DECIDE IF you go to the factory or not, at least mine did.. ..lol). . We loved Killarney and really enjoyed the shops and LOVED the Fish & Chips at a little hole in the wall type store we find wandering around. Not to big on Limerick, it is ok just not our favorite. Dublin is a big city and not a "Cultural Event" yet it has so many different facets and Interests. Temple bar area can be quite the place to be at night with street perfomers and resturants & bars and lots of people, very safe and fun! Dublin is the only place I think your Dad might have any breathing problems as it is a big city (which means Smog in the air) and there is a fair amount of walking from place to place, but take your time and all will be Perfect (or close too). . Make sure too have a few dollars for a tip at the Blarney stone (and Chap stick is a good idea). . The best part is that EVERYONE is so nice & friendly and very helpful that if you dont have a great time, then it must be You.. .. ..lmao! Have a Great time & if I can answer anymore questions, feel free to ask!
