Yes, Little (Makena) Beach on Maui's leeward side south of Kihei is world class for nude sunbathing. Red Sand Beach is way out east end side in Hana. Very good.
I live on Kauai now. Secret Beach since 2003 has been patrolled by a disgruntled Asian male who is employed as a security guard by a landowner who has a home overlooking the beach. He wears a belt buckle badge that says "security officer" on it and carries binoculars. He walks up and down the beach looking for nudists and orders them to dress. If they refuse he takes a cell phone picture of them and allegedly phones the cops-though no one has ever seen the cops show up. Local nudists don't bother with Secret Beach anymore because of him. Waht he does is totally illegal vigilante but no one has filed a suit against his boss because they don't want to draw attention to that beach. By the way, topfree sunning for ladies is LEGAL in HAwaii, despite what anyone tells you. The obscenity code talks about genitals, not breasts. Most people who dislike tanlines go to LARSEN'S BEACH these days. Larsen's is found by driving on Kuhio Highway, the main road on the east side, and takin g a right at the Molaa Sunrise Fruit Stand. This is Koolau Road. Go over 2 miles which goes down then up and winds around a lot until you come to a place where there is a white pvc pole in the ground that says "beach access" on it. Go right on the dirt road to the end and take the trail to the beach. If you pass the Koolau Cemetary 1858 sign you just went too far, the beach access is just south of that. The beach is over half a mile long and nudity occurs over any of it depending who is there. If you find clothed families parked where the trail empties onto the beach just go left further away from them. If you are there first, set the "dress" code! Most people know they will see nude persons at Larsen's.
