Antigua or Ocho Rios? Which would you choose for wedding?

Antigua or Ocho Rios? Which would you choose for wedding?

Please help! Very anxious/nervous bride to be here and trying to decide between newly renovated romeo and juliet room in SOR or newly renovated rondoval with plunge pool in Antigua.. . Can't find updated pictures of either and would love to see if anyone has any! Also, don't know which would make for better beach/wedding pictures. I SO wish I could go visit both to really look for myself and try to decide. This long distance thing is SO hard! Thanks all!

I really can't help you with the room situation, but I can try and help you decide which place to go. We just got back from OR a week ago Thursday. We went with 3 other couples and one of them got married there. You get to chose where you want the ceremony to be held, and your options are on the beach or under a gazebo in their beautiful garden area. My friends chose the gazebo even though they were thinking of a beach wedding the whole time. The reason why, was because when you marry on the beach you are having the ceremony in front of all beach goers. They don't have any private area availlabe. So if your looking for a private wedding on the beach, you won't be getting it. If your not fussy about privacy, then great! But I know you won't be dissapointed with the other option. It's absolutely beautiful. I made the joke to my husband that we should get a divorce so we can get married here! I would recommend it to anyone. I have pictures but I'm not sure how I am going to post them yet.
Sandals does a wonderful job making sure the couple is having a very memorable wedding. The reception was wonderful and the evening dinner was outstanding. I've never ate so much food in my life. A 7 course meal was given to us!
If you have any questions, let me know. In the meantime I will think of how to get some pictures to you.
Good luck!

not ocho rios

I just returned from ocho rios and, although I did not get married there, I was not impressed by their wedding facilities. It was like a wedding factory - there were about 8 to 10 weddings a day. Not to mention we were extremely dissatisfied with the resort. We had severel things go wrong and the staff were very hostile.

Antigua is Beautiful

Antigua is well noted for its gorgeous beach. Sandals is located along this stretch - just being in Antigua makes you feel like you are really on your own private island!!! :D
