Hotels in Historic Charleston, Savannah and Asheville

Postby Abcclerk » Tue Feb 15, 2005 6:14 pm

:) We are going to visit Charleston, SC, Savannah, Ga and Asheville, NC in June of 2005 and are interested in staying in hotels in the historical sections of these cities. Is there anyone out there who would have any information regarding the nicer places to stay in these areas?
Thanks for any information.

Having been to and stayed in each of these towns, it's our view that booking a B&B in each is a good way to go. Check out Karen Brown's site if you don't have a book . . . . . . I recall that in Savannah we stayed in the Magnolia Inn, which, I think is on Bull, facing the big park. In Asheville, the big old Victorian with the wrap around (1/2 way) porch which is generally listed, and in Charleston in a great Inn/B&B down near the river. Just look up B&B's in those towns, maybe. It's been 5 years and I've forgotten exact names w/o doing some file searching. Cheers, Dr. J.
