travel agent vs internet reservation

Well, I got an offer from Travilocity and passed it on to my travel agent and got a better deal. Guess it all depends on who and what you've got to work with. We are sailing constalletion out of San Juan 4/9/05

I like personal travel agents best.

I have book cruises both ways. On both the mass market web sights like Travelocity and through private travel agents. I find that you get a better service through private travel agents. My agent has always been able to beat or at least match any price I have found on the internet. I can call and talk to her and she calls me back. Also, I trust her with my personal information. Think about that next time you book with one of these companies. If you need an agent, feel free to contact mine. Her name is Dena and you can e mail her at Dena@thecruiseplanner.com. . She is very good.

Online vs REAL PERSON

Postby OCD TRAVELER » Wed Mar 15, 2006 10:41 am

I always use a travel agent - not only because of the work they do for me - all the research etc. - but if something goes wrong on my trip I can call her and she sorts me out right away. She's sorted out hotel problems in Vienna.

Also, she always matches or betters the price I find online.

And last but not least - booking online isn't saving me money - it's putting more money in corporate pockets - I'd rather go through my travel agent - she's got kids to feed.
