Greenbee71, there's a lot you can do, it just depends on your interests. Here we go: Let's Go Native Tour: full day tour includes shopping, lunch and Rick's Cafe, half or full day at Dunn's River Falls, Dolphin Cove, Martha Brae Rafting (I love this one, it's very relaxing), Chukka Blue Jeep Safari, Rosehall Greathouse,Croydon Plantation, a couple of horse back riding trips and a few others.

Don't forget to try the new spa at smb, it's great. Sign up for reservations for the restaurants as soon as you get there. Do you know what area you'll be staying in? You'll have a wonderful time at smb.

Also there is plenty to do at the hotel. The playmakers (entertainers) will keep you busy. So, like they say, "you can do it all or nothing at all. SMB has a large beautiful beach. You can water ski, snorkel, scuba dive or just hang out.

One of the best times I had was taking a day trip aboard the Tropical Dreamer Catamaran. They have Red Stripe on tap and plenty of rum. They take you snorkeling and to Margeuritaville for a trip down the slide. I do not remember the cost though.

I think the place we are staying at was sea grapes LX. What about tips? How much to tip? Dont drink much and if I do it wont be beer. Any suggestions on something good? Fruit juice or the like but not grapefruit juice?

Once the bus driver drops you of you are not allowed to tip anyone affiliated with Sandals unless you want to be responsible for them getting fired. The bus driver is not employed by Sandals and will tell you during the drive to show your "appreciation" if you liked the ride. Usually I give them 5$. . I am assuming you are a women so some of the better chick drinks are the hummingbird, mudslide, miami vice. Watch what people are getting at the bar and if you think it looks good ask the person what it is.

Greenbee71, that's where we stay each time we come. It's on the 3rd flr. and you'll love the view of the swim up bar, fountain and gardens and the ocean. At the airport, the custom is to tip a $1 per luggage. When you arrive you'll be taken into the lounge and given a cold wet towel and champane and fill out some paper work. Your room may not be ready depending on the time of your arrival. If it's Carlton, he'll take wonderful care of you and the luggage and make sure the temps are set in your room. You'll be right across from the new spa. Enjoy your walks and the scenery. You'll be just a short walk to the dining areas. You might see some cats down below on the first flr. They were probably about 8 mos. old in oct. I feed them all the time. There are also large dirt crabs living in the ground. We'll be there at the end of March.

assumptions!!

First off you know what they say about assumtions. I am a man I have allergies to beer! Now on to Kathy, do you tip at the hotel? In U.S. or Jamaican? About the Martha Brae Rafting. Is it far and how do you go about getting there? Have you gone to feed the humming birds. If so how far is that and is it expensive?

Greenbee71, It's about a 35-45 min. drive. The roads were still torn up from Ivan and they were working on them. But we enjoyed seeing different parts of the city. The cost was about $40. a piece. You don't tip any of the employees at the hotel unless you do it very secretly where no one will see you. You do tip the tour people. Your gratuities (sp) are included in with your price. I've never fed the humming birds. The jamaicans prefer american $'s, it's value is worth more than the jamican $
