royal carib. vs carnival
My sister and i and our boyfriends are going on a cruise in sept or oct. not sure whether to go on the carnival or royal caribbean. we dont want to be the youngest on board ( we're 30 ish) and pretty much can't stand children running around, but not into partying like the early 20's crowd either.. ..any suggestions of a good adult fun cruise? the consensus seems to be royal caribbean is a bit nicer. thanks.

So you only want a cruise with people that are 30 with no kids.. .. . GOOD LUCK!! I just got back and went with my husband without our kids and there are people of all ages. Kids are running around with faces painted and cute as can be. There are areas that you can go that are for adults only. Most of the time the kids aren't around the bars because, what would they want to be? We sat at dinner with 2 older couples and a couple our own age. They were all wonderful. Be open minded about the experience or go to an adult only no old people either resort.

We have taken 3 cruises in the past 2 years. If you want less kids try and go during non-school vacation weeks. It is easy enough to find out when most schools are open. First few weeks of September is always safe for less kids. You can also trust a real cruise travel agent that is local to you. They want you to keep coming back. You can also ask the cruise line directly when's the best to go. Also Hurricane season is Sept thru Nov. in Carribean. You could think of deep sothern carribean or West coast trips.
By the way RCCL has a lot of kids, Carnival is a party boat, Celebrity 40's crowd. But thats only my opinion.

:P We are looking for a cruise line that is Great! for Kids. We have three boys and would like this to be a memorable experience. Disney is booked up for what we can afford. Which cruise line do you think would be best besides Disney?

The more kids the better.

Thank you.. .. .

Kris,
Your best bet would be either Royal Caribbean or Carnival. Both lines have excellent kids programs and both have the kids grouped by age. Carnival will take kids 2 and above and Royal will not take the kids until they are at least 3 years old for their programs.

As fas as Carnival being marked as a "party ship" this is not necessarily true, they have a very deversified age group. I think at one time before Carnival became as popular as they are and as big (remember they own Holland, Costa, and Princess lines) they were known more for the party crowd, and you will find more of that on the 3 and 4 day cruises, but on the longer cruises you will find more familys and all age groups. I escorted a group back in October on the 4 night Fantasy and we had 58 with us ranging from 2 years old to 70. Everyone had a great time and there was plenty for all to do.
