My fiancee and I are planning a last minute honeymoon to Mexico, and we've been advised by agents that the newer Mayan Riviera area would be a great place to go, and the El Dorado Resorts seem to be the most preferred. We've never been outside of the states, so any suggestions would be appreciated. Are places that do not allow children that big of a plus for newlyweds? Are the hotels that great to the point that you really don't have to go outside of them to enjoy a greater part of your visit? We have the brochures about places and things to do, so I guess that suggestions/thoughts/comments that gear past the normal pick and choose regarding honeymoon experiences, pleasures, things required, negatives.. ..would be greatly appreciated.

I have been to Cancun and that area 3 times and the best hotel that we have stayed at is in Playa Del Carmen. The hotel is the Iberostar Quetzal. It is all-inclusive and the staff there is phenominal(spelling). . You really never have to leave there to have a great time. The shows are awesome, the beach is great and what can I say about the disco!! WOW!

We love the riveria maya, mexico, we have been several times.. ..we stayed at the iberostar tucan, and love, love, love, it.. .. .. ..the resort is top class all the way.. .. .. . you really never have to leave the resort.. .. ..make sure you get involved with the activities.. ..you will have some fun.. .. .. ..the food is wonderful, the entertainment is great, resort is beautiful, and if you get the chance, go to xel-ha and tulum, snorkeling and sight seeing mayan ruins.. ..we would not stay any where else.. .. .. .. .. ..in may we are going to punta cana and staying at the iberostar all suites.. .. .. .. ..we have been there also,,,,love it just as much.. .. .. .. .. . have fun, i know you will.. .. .. .. .. .. .
