i've never been to either one, but what you really need to be asking is whether you want pampering EXTREME (at RP) or a more...eh...party atmosphere for lack of a better word (at SRB). i'm putting that in as unbiased of a way as i can. basically, they're two completely different resorts. RP is a luxury resort and SRB is a large-scale vacation-type resort. ya know. whatever.

I stayed at SRB and have visited SRP. While SRB is not a "luxury" hotel like SRP, it is very nice in itself. It has two large pools, 7 restaurants, and a private island(acutally 1/2 an island). Both are very nice. SRP however is definately more upscale and luxury. SRB is totally all-inclusive, SRP has an all-inclusive or EP option. SRB is a bit more lively and casual than SRP though.

Depends on what you want. Another option might be the new Sandals Whitehouse - is is more along the lines of the SRB. It will even have poolside beverage service, butler service, etc (check Sandals. .com for specific amenities).

I really enjoyed SRB. The beach is great and the entire resort is beautiful. The Royal Plantation is very upscale and I am sure the suites are nicer, but there was nothing wrong with the rooms at SRB. If you decide on SRB, you will not be disappointed. But, if you rather go to Jamaica, look at SDR or Whitehouse

I've been to Royal Plantation 7 times and Royal Bahamian 3 times. Facilities are proportionate to number of guests. The pools are huge at Royal Bahamian, but the accomodate over 400 guests. They are also cold 6 months of the year except for the nice heated one in the back. Royal Plantation has a small pool, but it has never been a problem, as there is almost never more than 4 guests hanging out there at once. They only have 77 rooms. It is a completely different experience.

At Royal Bahamian, the only party time we saw was the time we went during reunion week last April. We were rather unpleasantly surprised.
