Been in Cairo in December, it's chilly. The traffic is absolutely shocking, where else would you see a donkey and cart being driven along the highway at night surrounded by cars, coaches, trucks etc where hardly any of the use headlights. The filthiest city I have ever been to, the route out to the pyramids is like a drive through a garbage dump, sanitation is a second place consideration there. You can drive along the street and witness sheep\goats being slaughtered for the table, with 18 million people in the city there ids no room for adequate housing for all, some have even adopted the cemetary as a home and live in the tombs.
