hey guys. Neither myself, or my fiancee have ever been ANYWHERE on vacation. We like the all inclusive idea of the sandals resorts. We are getting married in June of '05, and are now planning our honeymoon. In your opinions, what would be the most romantic, most luxurious and nicest accomodations and at wich sandals resort for a grand total of 5-6 thousand bucks???? Any advice from experience is greatly appreciated.

I am going to Sandals Whitehouse in April. Never been to a Sandals yet but I woould definitley recommend Paradisus Punta Cana. Its also an all inclusive and if you sign up for the Royal Service you get treated like royalty. It should cost around $6000 total. With the Royal Service you get many perks including a beachfront suite and private beach are with butler. Restaurants are good and this is just a thought as I have never been to a Sandals.. .. .. .. .. ..yet. We have a suite booked for April.

Sandals also has introduced Butler service for the top category rooms:

[quote]An All-Inclusive First -- Butler Service

Always looking to raise the bar on an ultra all-inclusive vacation, Sandals Resorts recently announced that they would be the first all-inclusive resorts to ring in Butler Service in January 2005. Available to guests booking the highest-level of opulent suites at any of Sandals and Beaches 12 Signature Collection Resorts, Butler Service will be included in the ultra all-inclusive package. Butlers at the resorts will take pride in knowing guests’ preferences prior to their arrival. In addition, they will attend to guests’ every need including private in-suite check-in, unpacking and packing of clothing, even drawing a bubble bath upon request or orchestrating in-suite gourmet dining on their private terrace. Butlers at the resorts will be professionally trained and certified as part of an exclusive partnership with the Guild of Professional English Butlers. The London guild is known for its renowned training of individuals worldwide for careers in Five Star hotels, Royal Palaces and Embassies in various capital cities.

Bump this up after the first of the year when I'll be back from Saint Lucia and the Sandals Grande there. Other islands are probably less expensive in terms of airfare, but from what I've been able to determine so far, St. Lucia is going to be beautiful. I chose it as the place to celebrate our 25th anniversary. Leaving Sunday.

You will really enjoy any of the Sandals Resorts. If you like a resort on the smaller scale, with a GREAT beach and the best sunsets anywhere, then Negril Jamaica is the place for you! My husband and I have stayed there twice. St Lucia is wonderful as well, with three resorts on the island all within minutes of each other. If you enjoy golf you would want to stay at the Regency, if you like small and intimate then the Halcyon is the place to stay. The Grande has the best beach and the biggest pool. We stayed at the Grande November of 2003. Beautiful property. We have reservations for the new Whitehouse and Royal Caribbean in April of this year and are already counting the weeks!

Or you could stay at sandals mobay. It all depends on what you are looking for. This is one of the oldest sandals and is 5 minutes away from the airport. Some people don't care to hear the noise from the planes. It does have a very large white sand beach and will be close to the shopping areas in town. We've found the people very congenial and helpful. They have remodeled a lot of their suites. It's not as fancey as the newest hotels, but very comfortable. March will be our sixth trip there. :D
