overnight stay at Chicagos O hare Airport in Feb 2005

Postby baybay » Wed Dec 22, 2004 9:36 pm

Hi, I will be stuck in Chicago's O hare airport in Feb 05 due to an overnight stay because of a cheap ticket to Morocco. Has anyone stayed there overnight recently. I have read bad things but I need current and up to date information. Specifically, can I stay in the concourse (this is what I read)? Will I be hassled by the security? Is there a cheap hotel nearby (40 USD) and under? If so, does the hotel have transportation back to the airport for an early morning flight? I land at 730pm and my flight is the following day at 730am. I know I can handle sleeping there if permitted as it will already be night time. Please email: dukeilu@yahoo.com

THANKS

I lived in Chicago for 5 years and flew in and out of O'Hare many times. I'm not sure if you can sleep on the concourse, but finding a hotel for $40 or less should be know problem. The public transportation in and out of the airport is great, so I wouldn't worry about that. In my opinion, I would go to hotline or other and get a cheap hotel room.

Since you have 12 hours (if all plans go well) and your flight out will be long to Morrocco, why not check you bags in at the airport (lockers) and go see some of the great sites in Chicago. The public transportation will get you wherever you want and if you plan right you get back to the airport around 2-3am. Then you have a few hours before check-in to relax and you can sleep on the plane making the flight seem a little shorter, just an Idea you might want to consider and you can have fun for less than $40.

I don't think you can leave your bags in a locker anymore (since sept. 11), but I agree that you should try and see Chicago! The L is super easy to use!
