Was thinking of going in March because airfares rise precipitously from Spring break on.

Italian Experience

We took this trip last Christmas and had a great time. We were in Florence for Christmas and had dinner in the Chianti hills. I'll try to comment on the following overnight stays:

Milan: Hotel is not convenient to the city at all but the underground isn't too far from the hotel and there is a hotel van that can take you to the subway. There really wasn't much to do or see in Milan so this was not one of our favorite cities.

Verona: Again, the hotel is not in the city center but the tour bus went into the city quite often so you could always catch a ride in and back to the hotel. Once in town, Verona is very pretty. Alot of shops, restaurants/cafes and outdoor markets.

Florence: My favorite city on the tour. the hotel is very close to the city center and you could walk wherever you wanted to go. So, in the evening you weren't stuck at the hotel, you could explore the streets, shops, restaurants, etc.. .. .. .. .. .. .

You visit alot of other cities on this trip but the overnights were in the 3 I listed above. While in Venice, make sure you take the Burano option with lunch. The island is very charming and the seafood was unbelievable!!

To sum it up, we had an awesome time on this trip. Since we went in December, there were hardly any tourists there (no crowds to contend with) but the weather was down right cold!!!! Another thing, the wine is always overflowing on this tour.
