My husband and I are seriously considering the Insight Winter Holidays Amazing Italy Tour. Has anyone ever taken this tour and what did you think of it? Also, my husband doesn't think he is a tour person but we can't do this trip on our own for this price. Are there any men out there that felt the same way about tours but ended up loving them?

My husband did not want to go to Italy and most of all, not on a tour. We went in August and we had a wonderful time. A tour is the best way to go. There's a lot of walking and getting up early - as there's so much to see and many miles to be covered. I seriously doubt that you could cover this much area on your own. Tours are very well planned. We met people from Australia, Canada, etc. and are still corresponding with couples we met on this trip.

He enjoyed it so much that we are planning another tour to Italy - this time to Sicily.

The tour director and bus driver are extremely knowledgable and fun to be with. You learn so much and take trips up roads that you wouldn't believe a bus could navigate.

My wife and i just came back from italy with Globos in dec 2005. This was the first time we used a tour company and we liked it. I have two recommendations (1) do not take the excursions except the one to moran island in veice because we think the other ones are way over prised and you can do it easly on your own. (2) take your own gondula ride in venice and do not use the excursionm, otherwise you will end up shaping the small boat with four other peope (total of six on the boat which is designed for two). .
