Shuttles between Ocho Rios Grand and Dunns River

Shuttles between Ocho Rios Grand and Dunns River

Could someone tell me how often the shuttles run between these two resorts? Do you have to tip each way? Do you have to wait? IS there a schedule? How late in the evening do they run?

The shuttles may stop before or well before midnight, can't remember. I'm pretty sure that how often they run probably differs from island to island. If you really get stuck, they will most likely find someone to shuttle you back to your own resort.
NO TIPPING :!: :!: :!:

I totally agree on the no tipping policy but always catch flak from people who break the rules because they feel sorry for the Jamaican people. While I too feel bad they don't have it very good in thier country I can't help but think working at one of the nicer resorts has to be a pretty good life.

I would assume the shuttle drivers are Sandals employees. I am pretty sure the ones who drive the airport transfer bus are not so we do tip them. If someone knows differently please let me know but I will assume the to tipping policy is for the shuttles too.

There is a schedule posted in the lobby of both resorts and the shuttles do run about every 15 minutes.

If I recall the last shuttle is at 11:45 pm. It may have changed since I was there this past April though.

The shuttle buses are driven by Sandals employees so I agree no tipping.

Have Fun!!! :D

Though the shuttle drivers are employees I they readily accept tips unlike the other employees within the resort who look around like they are under constant surveilance. You would pay a taxi driver to take you 3 blocks downtown so I don't see the harm in a couple of bucks for the round trip.

the tip thing has been argued and argued and argued and argued, but please, i have to say it again.. .. ..DO NOT TIP THE EMPLOYEES!!!!!!!!!

it's not about whether you feel ok with it, these people will lose a very very good job in jamaica. don't be so selfish.

You think people merely live below the poverty line in JA, you think they live month to month. They live day to day. Show me where they can get welfare, apply for social assistance, programs, get government funding for school, food banks.. . When you havn't eaten in 2-3 days because your child comes before you OR when you have no money to give your child for lunch money OR when you can't send you child to school because you can't pay the tuition OR your child is sick and you can't afford medicine you would really appreciate a few dollars from the people who can spare them.

maybe so. and as i've said before, don't front me without signing in.

let me ask you the same question, "guest." how can you go home and face your kids that are starving and say "hey, sorry kids, daddy lost his extremely coveted job at the big resort today cuz he took a $2 tip for bringing somebody their food." these jobs are highly sought after and, maybe not well-paid the way we'd think in america, but better paid than jobs on the island. you tip them, they lose their job, you just cost them a lot more than if you'd just obey the rules.

I agree w/ the Dr. on this. Employees do get looked at daily. They look in the womens' purses, etc. Yes, they could clip money to their undergarmets or something, and I imagine it has been done. I know at SMB that a 17 year bartender got fired for taking a tip.
