Planning on a trip to Central- Eastern Europe including Warsaw, Prague, Vienna, Budapest. Any comments on Insight's tour?

I did their Highlights of Eastern Europe in September 2002 and had a great time.

We took this tour last summer. Insight did a great job. I had only 2 complaints. The day we traveled to Berlin was unbelievably long and tiring. Also, Movinpick Hotel in Prague was the worst. Hope you don't get our tourguide -Beatta. I don't think there was one person out of 40 who liked her. She wasn't helpful or warm.

We did a Central Europe tour with Insight in June 2004. Our tour guide and driver were excellent. I posted a report on this site. The hotels were good, but the location of the Movinpick in Prague was not the best. It was just too far from the center of town to walk, but a short subway ride. Many, but not all, tours were included. Over half of the group did not take any extra tours, so we ended up with a lot of free time to explore because there were not enough people to cover the cost of the extra tours.

The main problem was the included dinners at the hotels. We could eat that food at home. We much preferred to eat at the local restaurants. In Bratislava we actually ate free with the group in the hotels then found a local restaurant for local food and drinks.

Have you checked out Insight's website? They have a forum page there were alot of people write great advice and trip reports. Because of this, I chose Insight over Globus for a May departure to Eastern Europe.. ..well, that and I thought their itinerary was more up my alley. But the site is super great and there is sooooo much information. Now considering Insight's Splendours of Egypt--but first have to actually take my Insight trip to be sure it is as great as I hope it will be.
