Editorial Guidelines - Why some comments are deleted

Editorial Guidelines - Why some comments are deleted

Postby moderator » Fri Nov 19, 2004 1:36 pm

In response to recent criticism, we would like to state for everyone's knowledge our editorial guidelines. We feel that these guidelines ensure a better message board experience for all participants.

As a matter of policy comments are not removed from this message board whether they are negative or positive. Genuine negative or positive comments are not removed --unless they violate our editorial guidelines.

As editors of a public message board we have a responsibility to many parties to remain fair, informative and within legal guidelines. Messages that violate these guidelines will be removed. The guidelines are as follows:

1) All messages containing SPAM or advertisements will be removed.

2) All messages using inappropriate language or making unfair personal attacks of other posters will be removed.

3) Any single negative comment that is posted more than once on multiple threads will be deleted. This is to prevent one disgruntled user from posting the same negative comment repeatedly on many threads whether it is relevant to the topic or not.

4) All messages that may be deemed as slander, libel or illegal will be removed.

All messages, positive or negative, that conform to the above guidelines will never be deleted.

As always, we welcome your feedback and criticism. Our aim is to make this a fair and informative platform for sharing experiences and opinions with other board users.
