Value World tours

Has anyone been on an escorted tour with this group? We are looking to travel to Vienna and Budapest in March. We are pretty independent, so will the group thing be too much of a pain?

How were the lectures aboard the ship?
Were the meals and hotels OK?

Can anybody follow up regarding Value World Tours? I am looking into a similar tour as the original poster to Vienna, Prague and that area. Just wanted to hear some comments and feedback.

I would recommend one of the more recognized tour companies such as Globus or Insight. We have beeen on 7 of their tours and they were fantastic. You do see a lot more on an escorted tour. You do not have to find parking or carry your luggage around. And you don't get lost and waste a lot of time.

I've taken several escorted Globus Tours and they were excellent. I understood the World Value Tour (Grand China) was an escorted tour as well.

Darlene, The Value World Tour of China is not an escorted tour. You will have an English speaking tour guide on the excursions. Also the tour is locally hosted by a "Value Tour" rep.

General,
Thank you for that information. We are committed to this tour in May, so will have to adjust. Dealing with luggage will be a major problem. I had rotator cuff surgery last fall. I will contact our travel agent to get a better understanding of what to expect.
Thanks again,
Darlene

Darlene, definitely, if you have any trouble handling luggage, you should stick with fully escorted tours. On the escorted tours you will only have to deal with luggage at the airports. There you can always get a skycab to help you.

General,
My travel agent just assured me that the Value World's Grand China is an escorted tour and I need not worry about my luggage.
Guess there is some confusion over the definition of 'escorted' tours.

Darlene, travel agents have been known to make mistakes. I would contact Value World Tours directly and get a confirmation from them. Here is their direct phone number: 714 556 8258

My dear General,

I did call Value World and the person answering the phone said they could not give me any information since I was already working with the travel agent at Affordable Tours. This is the reply I received from Affordable Tours

Well, it is technically a "cruise", however on the shore excursions you will have a guide with you and all luggage handling is taken care of.

Thanks again,
Darlene

Hi Darlene,

Please just ignore Max.He really seems to enjoy trying to burst the bubble. Maybe he was having a bad day but he does it all the time.
I have used Affordable Tours to book my vacations several times and the information they have given me has always been accurate.I know you will have a great time and I look forward to your review when you return.

Letsgo, Insight Vacations will certainly give you that information as well as give you the name of your tour director about a month before the tour. They will also tell you how many passengers have booked on your tour. Try doing that with Globus or Affordable Tours or whoever.

Max.
I have never had any problem getting that information from affordable tours or Globus or Avalon for that matter.
