Information on Whitehouse

Postby RubyAnn » Tue Sep 14, 2004 1:56 pm

Just wanted to let you know that yesterday I emailed my TA Kelvin from Prestige Service Travel, which works closely with Sandals, and I asked him specifically about Sandals Whitehouse. Kelvin asked me to call him, and after talking with him at length, I feel very reassured.
Yesterday he spoke with a regional manager of the Sandals, and she told him the following:
Sandals Whitehouse is still intact. All buildings are still standing as the structure of the buildings were soundly built. Nothing at WH was destroyed and what will be taken care of is debris and some broken windows.
The opening date for Whitehouse is still for the projected month of February.
I hope this helps to alleve any concerns. I know it did for me.
As a matter of fact, Kelvin says he still has openings to book for Sandals Whitehouse and of course all other Sandals Resorts. He is a great TA, and has really helped me to put aside my concerns with information from knowledgeable sources. If you want to book for any resorts but were wondering about the conditions of Jamaica Sandals, you can call him and he will let you know how things are.His number is 1.800.676.1692 ext # 210.
Thanks.

I was not soliciting, I was merely letting ones know where I received my information, and as ones had not been able to obtain satisfactory information from their own TA's, Kelvin was certainly available to me and whomever need his assistance.
I never have encountered so called 'Guests' to be so vulgar.
In my opinion, you are so unsavory and contentious and you don't belong on this message board.
Can you please go back to the rock you crawled out from?

Whitehouse

Postby Tam » Wed Sep 15, 2004 8:56 am

I am just finding this message board. And am so glad that I did. My fiance and I have booked our wedding/honeymoon at the whitehouse next May. Any idea how or where the weddings are going to be held at the Whitehouse. I have never been to Sandals and noticed that the other resorts have designated Wedding areas. 8)

From all I am hearing about Whitehouse, I would really, really like to go. HOWEVER, getting my wife anywhere on the island TimAir does not service is next to impossible.

I am thinking Negril is the closest destination for a puddle jumper flight to ths resort, right?

If it is, I may as well give up on going to Whitehouse :)

As far as I know, the only airports are in Montego Bay and Kingston. AirJamaica is great! The service is good and it seems to always be on time. You sure you can't talk her into it???

Actually, Llund.. .. . you are partially correct, but not 100%. .

Kingston / Montego Bay are the only international airports. There are two smaller airports that I have flown into FROM Montego Bay though. One is in Negril (directly across the street from Couples) and another one in Boscobel Bay. One of the charter airlines (TimAir) flies to both of them, and I have used them extensively over the years.

I will also agree that Air Jamaica is the absolute best for Int'l flights.. ..Their inter-island flights? Blech. I will never take any airline BUT Air Jamaica to the island, but I will never take one of their puddle jumpers again :) Heck, I am not even sure if they still have them.

Thanks for clearing that up pahobbit. I did not know that there were the 2 smaller airports. Why is it your wife won't go to Whitehouse?

Oh -- It's not that she won't go to Whitehouse.. .. . or any resort for that matter. She simply refuses to get in the bus to go there. My wife suffers from Chronic Cystosis, and the bus ride and all it's related bumps give her bladder problems for days afterwards.

Thats why whenever we go somewhere, it has to be either close to an airport. Just my trip to SDR in 8 weeks has had an extra $600 tacked on to charter a plane to get to Boscobel . .. .. . which is a good 20 minutes from the hotel.

I sorry to hear that, but at least you can look into places that you can fly to. Jamaica does have alot of bumpy roads-especially the 2 hour ride to SDR. You will love SDR and I am glad you are able to get there by plane.

It is a good 30 minutes from Boscobel airport (and yes, AJ Express still flies there but no longer flies to Negril) to Dunns River, minimum and sometimes 45 minutes. It is only supposed to be 75 minutes to Whitehouse.

I was at Dunns River a few nights ago, and they had broken windows, as they did at Sans Souci and many other resorts. Things are pretty good on the north end of the island. I didn't get down to the south end. We were supposed to go in November to Sandals.

I have clients that are on te island now that made the 1:30 flight w/ 12:15 arrival, but your bags have to come off at a decent rate. We arrived here at 10:40 and arrived at Royal Plantation by car at 1:15, and we checked a lot of luggage.

Thanks Rosie!

Unfortunately, I simply refuse to fly AJ express. I have gotten so used to Tim Air and having a plane to myself that I would not go differently.

What I was looking for is if there is anyway to get to Whitehouse on a charter flight, and it looks like there is. Apparently, I was wrong about there only being two air strips other than Negril and Boscobel in JA. There are two more, I just need to see where they are in relation to Whitehouse.
