Hey Doc,
I really hope you and your wife (and everyone) will be safe!!! I know we will have you in our prayers. I feel horrible for everyone having to go thrugh this again, and from what I hear it will be worse than Hurrican Charley. Seems I just got home in the nickof time from Wilmington,NC
Make sure Doc that you check in with us, so that we will know you are fine!
Peace and Love from all of us here!

I also go on a cruise message board and have been reading about this hurricane for 2 weeks now. Cruise lines have been changing their routes and cancelling trips. Airlines are offering changes for those due to fly into Florida this weekend. I wonder if they evacuated SRB since it is to be in the Bahamas too. You are in our thoughts! I could not imagine being in a hurricane, but I sure know what earthquakes are like! Stay safe!

wow, just got back this morning (tuesday) and am amazed to see the response and well wishes. thanks to everyone. not to belittle the pain that some Floridians experienced, but Ocala was a snooze. i think the eye of the hurricane hit Orlando which is crazy cuz that's like an hour from Ocala, but we got nothing. power was out for 2 days, that was it. anyway, thanks for the awesome response. you guys are cool. well done yardbird on the heli.. ..DOH! llund, thanks for thinkin about us! and everybody else too. sorry, i shouldn't start naming names cuz i'll leave peeps out. really, it was nothin though. thanks.

drperfect-

glad you came through ok. My little brother is just north of you a bit (near Fairfield). . He manages one of the big horse farms there. He said in the 23 years he's been down there he's never seen it blow so hard, but he also said he was more concerned about the tornadoes spawning off the rain bands.

Anyways.. .. . maybe next time I'm down there we can meet at the cue and brew or something. :)

again.. .. . glad you're in good shape. Some of my friends in the Bahamas are not so fortunate.

got evacuated out of smb last night before the airport closed. they moved the remaining guest to hotels inland. offered free flights out to as many as they could. the management at smb were terrific. they were boarding up the resort when we left at about 4 pm.

I had read that they were moving guest inland. Did you fly out? I am sure it is disappointing to you but it is nice to know that Sandals has been great at handling the situation. I hope that all the Sandals in Jamaica make it through okay. I have been to Jamaca many times both on a cruise and staying at Sandals. Plus, I have good friends from Jamaica so my heart is with this island.

Air Jamica is owned by the same person that owns the sandals resorts. Air Jamica was flying out guest to Miami at no cost. Those who wanted to stay were moved inland. they said that those who left would get the nights lost as well as two complementary nights. airfare is probably on me but it is worth it.

I also heard that the brother of the Sandals owner owns the Margaritavilles in Jamaica. I sounds as if they handled the situation well. How many days were you actually there? Is the offer good a every Sandals or just MB?

there for three nights. they are giving two nights free. i was not on the island for the hurricane so i just get the two free nights along with what i missed. dont know about airfare yet but dont think so. i think they gave the two free nights because we wouldn't leave. they were worried about where to put all of us
