I was planning London next year with Gate 1. After having read all the horrible reviews on this BB, I am having 2nd thougts!!

Anyone used Gate 1 or one of the other tour companies with success?? What did you like about it?

I agree- there is no way that a tour is needed if you are staying in one city! Just get a guidebook, buy a tube pass, and I swear, it will be OK! The tube is convenient, cheap, and easy to navigate by, most good guidebooks will tell you which station to get off and everything!

You are probably right , but I did book with Globus. It was easier transportation, a very conveniently located hotel and only one day of sightseeing, the rest you are on your own or can join their optionals. I found in Italy their optionals are expensive but worth it sometimes because they save you time waiting in lines
