alchol in carry on?

alchol in carry on?

Postby guest » Thu Aug 26, 2004 2:03 pm

I'm going on Extasy this weekend and am only bringing a carry on size bag. Does anyone know if I will have a hard time bringing alchol in the original bottle on? I read a posting where one person said to bring it in your carry on and another said not to. a frew of my friends have tried putting it in a mouthwash bottle, and they have all said that it tastes horrible. Any suggestions?

Do not take it on Carry On. It WILL be taken away. If you read the web site they tell you you may bring one bottle of champagne or wine which they will charge a corking fee to open. Yeah RIght.. .. .. .. .. .. ..Check a bag with it wrapped up.

Alcohol in carryon

I am going on my first cruise and would like to take a bottle of my favouite liquor aboard.
I understand that if found they seize it and hold until departure.
Do they actually xray the bags to locate the "contraband" or do they go through everyones bags. Is it worth a try?
I think they are using security threat to force people to use their product exclusively.
What liquor I consume in my own accomodations should not be their business. Can you imagine a hotel doing the same thing
Comments or suggestions please

 They don't check carryons for alchol. We check thru the beer and take a bottle of Jack in our carryon for the passed three years.

It IS Illegal?

I am not an attorney but a close relative is and when we were denied bringing drinks and snacks to a movie theater, he sued them and won several thousand dollars(and a free movie pass)"Restrict Of Trade" is what it is called when you can prove they sell the same items as any local retailer and force you to pay there prices.
My thought is when we go on our cruise I am bringing on a reasonable amount of beer and rum, identical to items I know they sell in there bars, we will see what happens.

What a Great way of Thinking, I suppose when you go to a Resturant for dinner you feel you should be able to bring your own bottle of wine, afterall they (resturants) charge more than a local store does right? Hey maybe you could bring your own meat and veggies and they could cook it up for you at a DISCOUNTED rate of course (since YOU are supplying the food) or YOU would SUE them. I always wonder What people like YOU do for a LIVING and HOW YOU can be Void of even a modicum of Common Business sense. You see a Business is supposed to be a Profit making endeavor NOT a place who LOSES Money by saying "Oh Sure bring WHATEVER YOU want, who cares that it is (part) the Way WE Make OUR LIVING with ALL things Combined! I bet if the Cruise lines Allowed people to bring their own Booze & whatever and in turn RAISED the Cruise PRICES that YOU would be the First one to Bitch & Complain that it's not fair boohoo! Of Course YOU would SUE them! Hey if you did Sue and Won ownership of the Cruiselines, Would YOU ALLOW everyone to bring whatever they want too on board? If YES then how would YOU Stay in Business? Please Answer as I cannot wait to see what a Brilliant Answer YOU come up with!!!! Maybe YOU should contact your Close relative (Atty.) and see if YOU can SUE ME for pointing out what a SUE Happy MORON YOU are!

Carnival Policy

Postby Firstimer » Thu Mar 24, 2005 9:05 pm

Wife and I just got back from the March 14 Carnival Inspiration Cruise and we found the whole liquor thing pretty disgusting. The cruise was loaded with spring breakers who smuggled loads of booze on board.

Rule abiding people like me are left with nothing. Liquor is sold on board but if you buy it you cannot have it until you get off the ship. Same thing if you buy it in port, they are supposed to confiscate it until the end of the trip. I asked the liquor salesperson on the ship why and he said the cruise line didn't want people drinking in their rooms.. .. ..pretty feeble logic considering the booze was flowing day and night in the party room across from me.

It's evident that Carnival's liquor policy is just a scam to get you to pay for their overpriced, watered down drinks from the bar. We won't be cruising on Carnival again.
