Breezes Curacao - Trip Report

Breezes Curacao

Postby CaptainKirk » Thu Jul 15, 2004 12:37 pm

My family & I just got back from 11 days at Breezes Curacao. I feel obliged to report it was fantastic.

We are all certified divers and the on-site dive shop was great. They provide equipment for one shore dive a day but since we had bought a package from the operators of the shop (Ocean Encounters) we got unlimited air. They even offered to leave tanks out for us if we wanted to night dive. The reef starts about 20 yards from the dive shop pier - just a jump and a few strokes.

We found the dive shop staff and divemasters very congenial and knowledgeable. We added special dives to our package including "Mushroom forrest" and a 12 hour trip to a deserted island that included breakfast and an incredible lunch. The dive shop took care of all the details and there was not one thing overlooked.

As for Breezes resort: the food was great, the staff was friendly & courteous, there was entertainment & games, and the room was clean. (Some of the fixtures could use a facelift - but no big deal). .

We took two trips into Willamstad (complimentary van from resort). . Cute city with great shopping. We were told, like any city, there is some crime at night - but saw nothing but friendly locals and merchants.

Wish I was there now!

CaptainKirk: Thanks for the recent trip review. I must admit that after reading some posts, I was very apprehensive about Breezes Curacao. When our group first booked our trip for November 2004 a few months ago, we really hadn't read too many trip reports. However, after reading some, we were a tad worried. Your posting has put my mind at ease somewhat. I have been to the Caribbean many times and am not picky about accommodations as long as the snorkeling is good. I have a few more questions about the resort and island and was wondering if I could contact you via e-mail to get more information.
Thanks again
Carol

:Breezes caracao- Date of trip April 18, 2005. My husband and I were dissappointed. We stayed at couples Negril in Jamaica. We very happy there. Our stay at curacao was not so good . . One of three restaraunts, the steak house was closed. we payed full price for this vacation but it seemed everything was off season for service. When we ate at the buffet we had to get our own water and the waitstaff was more interested in clearing tables. It was cloudy the whole week we were there. It rained on thursday. The hotel shuttlebus for shopping had no air. We saw a man pee on the street by emma bridge. We got puked on by another guest pukeing over the stairs to go to our room. Because of Air Jamacia we missed 2 days of are all inclusive vacation . . we could not get near the pool bar on sat. because they let the dutch navy in for the day. Need I go on . . The japanese restaraunt had a . ..cook from kingston . . It was not that great. Our room over looked the pool and was very noisy. they let children in the adult pools all the time. even by the pool bar. Angry from wisconsin

Breezes Curacao

I visited Breezes Curacao and found it to be an adequate all-inclusive resort for those looking for a good price point. Breezes has never purported to be an upscale all inclusive and caters to mainstream America and the foreign market. For those looking for an on-resort casino and numerous activities, it is a fun place to visit.
