It is an older property so it may looked a little "used", but I have never been, so I cant say for sure. It seems a lot of people that go , enjoy there stay!

Traveler, This Sept. will be our 5th trip to SMB. It's not as fancy as the newer hotels but they have been doing a lot of renovations on the rooms. It's one of the first hotels, I think. They just finished their new spa last Sept. and the place always looks very nice. There are beautiful garden settings and a wonderful long beach. Everything looks very well kepted up to me. We just love the people there.

Thanks, my wife just wants to lay around and then go shopping. Maybe people expect a lot more than I do. We have gone to Canun several times and guess we will use that as the standard. We seemed to enjoy the older hotels in Mexico better than the new ones.

Like they say, " you can do it all or nothing at all." We are 58 and 64 yrs. old and you will enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and the people are tremendous. When are you going? We leave on Sept. 25, red eye flight out of LAX Air Jamaica. Air Jamaica is the Only way to go. We get a direct flight from LAX.

Traveler, Check in with Dawn Smith, runs front end of entrance and is like a sister to me, if you need anything. Tell her that Bill & Kathy said HI and see you soon. We always stay at the SeaGrapes #1006, it's always been our favorite. Enjoy

Montigo Bay

I will be traveling to Montigo Bay on the 6th of Sept. also. We are hoping that we don't get stuck in Dallas or Miami because of Francis. We're suppose to be flying out of Miami on Tuesday afternoon. I hope the Miami Airport is still functioning after this hurricane. How is the weather down there in September?

Hope that Miami is open, you might want to see if the airline is routing people through other airports. We are leaving out of St. Louis on a charter on monday morning. Look me up when you get there. We will either be by the pool or ocean. The overweight white guy (no tan) with the good looking skinny gal. :D

Here is my report of the resort as the time right before the evacuation. Most of the rooms were about the quality of holiday inn. they were clean and the only complaint i would have is that the bath tub had paint chipping off. other than that the resort was great. the food was typical of an all inclusive but paletable. the grounds were well kept up and everyone was friendly. the management staff was wonderful and the enterainment was excellent. the disco was not to my liking but that was just because the music was geared to the younger set. the piano bar was small but everyone seemed to have a great time. we did not have any problem with the airplanes since it was a game and a great excuse to kiss my wife. some topless female sunbathing. was really enteraining when the men wanted to walk by and view the sun worshipers and the wives had other ideas. all and all, we will be returning to finish out our vacation.
