SRC/ MoBay Excursion Questions

SRC/ MoBay Excursion Questions

Postby bride2be » Sun Aug 15, 2004 4:33 pm

Hi there,
For those who have been to SRC or MoBay, what Excursisons did you go on, did you like or dislike them and about how much money did the cost?

We are particularly interested in the Dolphin habitat excursion/ Dunn's river. Did anyone do that one- what type of transportation do they offer to Ocho Rios?

Thanks!!!

bride2be, I found the price list on www.the-flagship.com/sandals_montego_bay_tours.htm

From Sandals MoBay: Dunn's River Falls Full Day $59 ea./Half Day $52 ea.
Martha Brae Rafting $45 ea., Dolfin Cove Touch $90, swim #140 ea.
Horse Back $40-67 ea.

Shopping Downtown $23 ea., Negril all day $40 ea.

And there's a lot more. For the big tours, a big bus is usually used and for smaller trips, depending on how many people go, a small bus or car.

Hope this helps.

oh my $59 a PIECE for dunn's river falls??!!!! call a-z jamaica planners. granted my prices were based out of ocho rios which is close to the falls, but that price is crazy expensive!!! and bride2be, know that if you go to the falls or dolphin cove or martha brae from mobay (which is where BOTH SMB and SRC are located) that it will be at least a 2 hour drive. consider staying at SDR or SOR and being close to your excursions.

When you call a-z planners, ask for Oscar. We stayed at SDR and spent day with him driving up to port Antonio and doing the bamboo raft on the Rio Grande River. The next day, we spent 1/2 day with him going to the falls and around Ocho Rios. He is the best!

Bride 2 B

I got married at Montego Bay in July of this year. We went on the Dunns River Tour for the full day and it cost us $120 for the both of us. The trip didn't seem like a 2 hr drive. I thought since they had been working on the roads that the time was shortened. I do not know this for sure though. What I do know though is that it certainly didn't seem that long. You have three seperate stops on the way there, one just as a pit stop to stretch and get a drink, and two others for shopping. This tour was absolutely worth the money, we had a great time. If you go to orientation after you check in they have a lot of infomation on the different excursions. If anything there was a lot of information on different excursions and not much information on the resort which we figured the orientation would cover.

Have fun . .. .. . we had a great time!!
