We just got back from a cruise on the Paradise last Sunday. We had a great time. Save all your shopping money for St Thomas. The prices were the best. We felt unsafe in La Romana and the prices were a lot more than in St Thomas. Unless you have a excursion planned in La Romana, don't wander far from the ship on your own.
The dining room staff was fantastic. We had Bobby and Elmer as our waiters and they were just great in their service.
Don't forget to pack your blowdryer because they aren't provided. Don't miss the midnight buffet on Friday night in the dining room.

just got back from the cruise had a wonderful time in La romana we took a tour of the sugar cane fields we loved it my 2 teenage girls also loved it ( and they are hard to please) i heard the Altos De Chavon Village & riverboat Tour is really good-It was sold out so we took the Countryside Safari Tour in a safari truck LOVED IT in the Bahamas we took the Atlantis and Aquarium tour Waste of money would of rather toured the island in st. Thomas we booked a Godfrey tour off the internet that was GREAT aND ALOT CHEAPER THAN CARNIVAL MY HUSBAND WENT GOLFING ON THE TEETH OF THE dOG GOLF COURSE IN La Romana just in case you might want to golf HAVE FUN TAKE LOTS OF PICTURES

OH and the only thing i didn't like was we had a inside cabin i never knew when it was daytime the room was so dark in the AM next cruise I will book an outside cabin so you can see the port and see the sun in the morning it was hard to wake up in the AM with no sun ( and i usually went to bed by 11:30 like i do at home) bring a book lots of down time I never layed out by the pool it was too hot and humid and uncomfortable stayed inside sat by the windows or played bingo or just walked around lots to do inside with the AC hope this helps oh we ate in the Elation dining room our waiter we Erol from Turkey and his helper was Rodney from the Dominican Republic they were great!!
