Whitehouse to Negril

Whitehouse to Negril

Postby RubyAnn » Thu Aug 05, 2004 9:55 pm

Hi ALL.. .. .
As I have never been to Jamaica, I was wondering about what is in NEGRIL? I know that Whitehouse is not developed so really will not have much in this community, so if we travel to Negril, what is there that is worth seeing? Is the 45 minute trip worth taking to this town?I mean other than Sandals, what else is there? Nightlife? Daytrips???anything will help me to determine whether we will spring for this. Also are taxis or shuttles really expensive to take that much of a distance?
Anytype of input will be greatly appreciated! I love the fact that y'all are in the 'know' with this island!
Counting down the months! 8)

You may want to contact a-z planners. Maybe they can take you on a siteseeing trip to Negril. From what I understand, there are alot of clubs in Negril. I really don't know if I would venture out on my own in Jamaica without a guide. We used a-z when we were at Dunn's River. I know they have trips to the Black River and YS falls. Belinda can put something together for you. I plan to contact them when it gets closer to our trip to Whitehouse.

I'm like Lori.. ..never been to Negril and know only what's discussed here. But I know Rick's Cafe or whatever is like the numero uno thing to do in Negril (like Dunn's River Falls is to Ochi). . Negril also is the hot spot for Jamaican sunsets (no brainer there since it's on the west coast of Jamaica) and I'm thinkin that the bluff Rick's is on is where everybody goes to see them. Then I also remember something in the annals of my research about cliff diving or something like that. Anyway, sure someone else knows more than I but I know that Rick's and sunsets are what people go to the Negril area for. And the 7 mile beach, which Sandals sits on. If you go, you may as well go to Sandals and check the resort out. I would. - that there's no free rides like at all the other Sandals. Maybe they'll change that.

Actually, we were planning to go to Negril as I wanted to see the sunsets. With the great prices at Whitehouse, we decided to go there instead. I agree with dperfect to go to Sandals Negril if you want to see Negril It would be fun to take a taxi there at sunset one night and eat there instead of Whitehouse. Maybe by the time we are there in November, Sandals will have transportation to Negril. That would be great!
