For those of you who smoke I was just wondering do they sell cigarettes at the airport in St. Lucia or in the Sandals gift shop? How much do they charge? I am not sure whether to just bring a bunch or get them, there. Thanks!

Well I hope this helps-I dont know St. Lucia but in Jamaica smokes at the guift shop (SDR) were 5 dollars a pack, for Marlbourals (south american made and they taste different). . The ones at Sangster airport were a bit cheeper but also south american. The cheepest place to buy them is the duty free shop at the airport (US) before you leave.

Well in Jamaica the laws are different, smoking is not a sin. There is a Benson and Hedges smoking longe in the airport secure section (for when you are leaving). . You cant smoke on the buses- to the resort and between the resorts, in taxis it is up to the driver (I request one that will allow it). . At SDRsmoking was OK in the public areas, the restraunts were non smoking (except Wendies-open air). . But they would let you smoke right by the exit so it wasnt a problem. We would just tell the waiter that we were stepping out for a smoke before dessert/ dinner etc and they would just put your food at your spot. The bars were all open air and allowed smoking (the disco did not). .

However, many of the people were Americans and used to smoking rules. We all used common courtsey (unlike the USA wich relies on laws). . We didnt blow our smoke toward the non smokers, and when things were crowded most people refrained from smoking even when they could.

I dont know the laws- but I found it pretty smoker frendly there. (Like Europe in the early 1990's)

My wife and I are not smokers, but i must say, the people who were smoking at the resorts we have been to were VERY courtous.. .. . WE don't really get bothered by the smoke anyway, but everybody seemed to take it upon themselves to be respectful, no matter the vice (drinking smoking, swimming)
