telephone calls

Postby jk224 » Mon Jul 26, 2004 2:53 pm

Hi everyone. I posted this question on the topic Grande, but I did not get a response so I am hoping that someone will read it being its a new post. We are leaving for the Grande in 5 days and I am concerned about the telephone calls. I read a review on tripadvisor saying that calls could not be made with a calling card from the sandals resort. Can anyone confirm this? I know it is very expensive to call NY (or anywhere in the US from there) and I was going to purchase a calling card before we left. If anyone can give be info on this I would really appreciate it. Thank you!! :D

Darn it, I don't remember. I sure as heck called home a gazillion times to check on my son who was 3 1/2 at the time. But for the life of me I cannot remember how I went about it. For some reason I picture myself using a calling card. I'm pretty sure that's the way it worked! Have you tried calling Sandals directly? I wish I could have been more help!

On a side note, it's very beautiful!!!! Have a beef, mushroom and ale pie at the pub for me!!! It's delicious!!!

RE calling cards:

We bought one in the states ( an AT&T ) and were not able to use it in the Bahamas at the Royal Bahamian, it just wouldn't work. We were told you need to buy a local calling card, right on the island, and those work well. We didn't bother, and it was around 7 dollars a minete to call home, needless to say, we kept the calls short! Have fun!

Or take a cell phone. They work good there. I use mine to make calls to MoBay.

For me to call from CA to Mobay, it's about .34 a min. with AT&T.
